Fenugreek Fried Fish

Fenugreek and fish go very well together. This recipe uses ground fenugreek that leaves a great aroma in your kitchen:)


Batang pieces - 4
Shallots - 10
Garlic cloves - 10
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Fenugreek powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Dry roasted Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Juice of 1 lime
Salt as per your taste.

Take the fish (I have used Batang) steaks. Rub the fish with lime juiceand salt. Set aside to marinate. Prepare a paste using the shallots, garlic cloves and ginger. Marinate the fish with chilli powder,  fenugreek powder, turmeric and roasted cumin powder along with the paste. Set aside for 1/2 an hour. Heat oil and deep or shallow fry the fish (I have shallow fried, it depends on how you want to do it).
