Everyday Chicken - Indian Style!
A Dry Chicken Preparation:) I dont know what to name this one. I just make it and I dont call it anything. This is one normal way I cook chicken often. It goes well with rice, rotis and even bread:)
1 chicken cut into pieces.
MARINATION:
2 tsp turmeric powder,
2 tbsps red chilly powder (or according to your taste),
2 tbsps coriander powder,
2 tsps Everest Chicken Masala powder (or use garam masala or any other meat masala),
2 tbsps ginger-garlic freshly crushed,
4 tbsps fresh thick yoghurt.
Salt to taste.
THICK GRAVY:
3 medium onions finely chopped,
3 medium tomatoes finely chopped,
Some coriander leaves finely chopped
Take the chicken pieces, make deep gashes in the drumstick pieces and marinate them with enough salt and the ingredients listed under MARINATION. Keep either overnight or atleast 3 hours. Heat oil, add the onions. Fry till the onions turn golden brown, then add the tomatoes. Fry and let the tomatoes get well fried and mixed with the onions. Once you see the oil separating, add the marinated chicken into it. Mix well, you would not need to add any water. Cover and cook on low flame till the chicken is well done. Do stir in between twice or thrice. Once the chicken is done add the chopped coriander leaves. Mix well. Check salt and the spicyness. If you feel so, adjust salt, red chilly powder or chicken masala at this point. Once done, keep it open on medium flame, to let the gravy reduce to the consistency where it just coats the chicken pieces. Serve hot along with whatever you have on hand. Bread, rice, rotis... Done!
