Creamy Chicken with Dried Fenugreek Leaves:)
Chicken that melts in your mouth that are oh so easy to make!!!
Who says you should not take short cuts in the kitchen? Short-cuts save time and I have realised that they do produce lovely results! If you would rather not take any 'cutting the corners' of recipes, surely you would not mind those easy, instant recipes that give out incredible results?
So here I am, today, posting one!
I have added plain yoghurt, to give that sour tinge to the chicken, that would balance the taste of fenugreek in it.
The use of ingredients in this preparation is minimal. The taste of dried fenugreek leaves stand out with the creamy texture and flavour of the chicken. Rice, bread, anything would go with this. I would even recommend having it on its own with a salad! Creamy and Yummy!
Here goes the recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
Chicken - 1 (medium), cut into small pieces
Onions - 3 (big), chopped very fine
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tbsps
Dry Fenugreek Leaves (Kasoori Methi) - 10 grams (Dried Fenugreek is available in Indian stores)
Red Chilly Powder - 3 tsps (reduce to 2 tsps if you have a less tolerance level)
Plain Low Fat Yoghurt - 1 cup
Fresh Cream - 1/4 cup
Salt
Oil.
METHOD:
Wash the chicken pieces well and keep aside.
Heat 2 tbsps of oil and add the onions to it.
When they start becoming transparent, add the ginger garlic paste. Fry till it becomes light brown in colour. Add the red chilly powder. Stir.
Add the chicken pieces into the onion mixture and mix well to coat.
Add the dried fenugreek leaves.
Add the yoghurt and salt. Mix.
Cover and cook till the chicken is well done (checking whether sprinkles of water needs to be added if the mix gets too dry) and the gravy just coats the pieces.
Check salt. Switch the fire off.
Add the cream and mix well.
Serve hot.
This recipe would work well with fresh fenugreek leaves too. Just substitute dry fenugreek leaves with fresh leaves, stalks removed and washed well, and proceed with the recipe.
Lots of love and happiness:)
