Asian Tofu Salad... after my tryst with Yoga... and lovely awards!

The joy of eating this salad is the thought of eating a plain, healthy enough, low calorie food. It makes a wonderful starter to a full blown lunch (or dinner) party, but I like to have this with nothing before or after, or maybe some slices of fruit, after, to cool things down. It is incredibly easy to make... lovely, fresh and soothing. Why add to your difficulties in the kitchen? Are there not enough of them, in life, as such?

Feel free to play around with this recipe, add or subtract the ingredients, I dont really care, it would turn out yummy in any possible way. This was made today, for dinner, as I had zero energy to deal with the cooking situation, having started a yoga session that required me to go through all sorts of postures that one could think about... tree, snake, dog, cat... that left me in a daze:)

INGREDIENTS:
Firm Tofu / Bean Curd - 200 grams (This would be one thick square block of the ones you see in the supermarkets)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Ginger Minced - 2 tsps
Garlic Minced - 2 tsps
Green Chillies - 2, chopped fine
Light Soya Sauce - 2 tsps
Onion - 1 small, thinly sliced lengthwise
Cilantro / Coriander Leaves - 3 sprigs, chopped fine
Lemon Juice - 2 tbsps
Peanut Powder - 2 tbsps
Salt as required
Oil - a teeny weeny bit.

METHOD:
Cut the tofu into slim rectangle pieces and smear them with salt and turmeric powder.
Heat up a pan, add a drizzle of oil, and add the tofu pieces. Shallow fry till they get a slight colour change. Take them out and keep aside.
Heat the pan again with another drizzle of oil and add the ginger, garlic and green chillies. As they change colour into a light brown, switch off the fire and add the soya sauce. Stir and keep aside.
Take a bowl, and get ready for the salad tossing.
Add to the tofu, the soya dressing, onions, cilantro and lemon juice. Toss well. Check salt and add more if needed. Finally put in the peanut powder and toss again and your job in the kitchen is done.

And... I am overwhelmed by two Liebster Blog awards that was passed on to me by food bloggers, Prathibha Sreejith of http://cook-ezee.blogspot.com/ and Shilpa Kiran of http://shilpakiran-cookwithfun.blogspot.com/.

Thanks so much Shilpa and Prathibha, for this, considering the fact that I am quite an impulsive and irregular blogger:) Their blogs COOK WITH FUN and COOK-EZEE are lovely!
I would like to share this award with 5 other blogs that I find interesting.
